what is coaching?

  • Agency. You’re determining your goals and discovering your path forward, supported by a partner for the journey.

  • Solutions-oriented. Moving conversation and exploration to concrete steps fuels tangible outcomes.

  • Feedback-rich. Focusing on your inner landscape helps reveal strengths and growth opportunities.

  • Challenging. We will be stretching you to push past obstacles toward your desired future.

  • Structured. A tested methodology provides context and motivation to generate progress and accountability.

02

what isn't coaching?

  •  Advising or mentoring. A coach does not tell you what to do or model how to do it.

  • Consulting. A coach is not hired to solve or “fix” issues or problems for you.

  • Therapy. While we bring the sum of our experiences to our professional selves, the focus will be on crafting a plan to move forward, not trying to explain or resolve early and/or difficult experiences.

  • Punishment. Coaching is a resource to help us embrace change as our best selves, not a “penalty box” or professional improvement plan.

how do you work with clients?

I tailor our engagement to meet your needs, constraints and preferences. In a typical six-month program, we meet at a scheduled time every other week for 60-90 minutes, but can modify that duration and cadence to  your availability. These meetings take place in-person or virtually – the mode of connection is much less important than making time for it. I may offer exercises or prompts between sessions, not as “homework,” but as chances for reflection and exploration of the possibilities in front of you.
